जो मेरे घर कभी नहीं आएँगे

Those who will never come to my house

मैं उनसे मिलने

I will go to meet them

उनके पास चला जाऊँगा।

एक उफनती नदी कभी नहीं आएगी मेरे घर

A river that is overflowing will never come to my house

नदी जैसे लोगों से मिलने

To meet people like the river

नदी किनारे जाऊँगा

I will go to the riverbank

कुछ तैरूँगा और डूब जाऊँगा

I will swim a bit and drown

पहाड़, टीले, चट्टानें, तालाब

Mountains, mounds, rocks, ponds

असंख्य पेड़ खेत

Countless trees and fields

कभी नहीं आएँगे मेरे घर

Will never come to my house

खेत-खलिहानों जैसे लोगों से मिलने

To meet people like fields and barns

गाँव-गाँव, जंगल-गलियाँ जाऊँगा।

I will go from village to village, through forest paths.

जो लगातार काम में लगे हैं

Those who are always busy working

मैं फ़ुरसत से नहीं

I am not free

उनसे एक ज़रूरी काम की तरह

I will meet them as if it's an

मिलता रहूँगा—

important task—

इसे मैं अकेली आख़िरी इच्छा की तरह

I want to keep this as my only last wish

सबसे पहली इच्छा रखना चाहूँगा।
