Translation

Bu dam g‘animatdir, nechun bilmasmen,

This moment is valuable, why don't I understand,

Chiqsa dam, kirmog‘i gumon ko‘rinar.

If the moment passes, its return seems uncertain.

Bizdan burun kelgan ko‘chibdir tongla,

Those who came before us have moved on at dawn,

Yo‘l uzoq, qorong‘u, tumon ko‘rinar.

The path is long, dark, and foggy.

Oqil bo‘lsang, ista bu yo‘lda bir pir,

If you are smart, find a guide on this journey,

Rizqingga kafildir Alloh, Muqtadir,

God, the Almighty, ensures your sustenance,

Oltin-kumush, olmos, yoqut ila dur,

Gold, silver, diamonds, rubies, and pearls,

Haqdan g‘ayri tamom ziyon ko‘rinar.

Everything except God seems like a loss.

Allohni unutib, aqling yitirma,

Don't forget God, don't lose your mind,

Har nafas ogoh bo‘l, g‘aflat ketirma.

Be alert every moment, don't be careless.

Behuda, befoyda umring o‘tirma,

Don't waste your life on useless things,

Dunyo baqosizdir, ayon ko‘rinar.

The world is temporary, it's obvious.

Xoja, sayyid, podsho — so‘ralmas nasab,

Khwaja, sayyid, king — lineage doesn't matter,

Hashr-nashr bo‘lsa, olarlar hisob,

When the resurrection happens, they will account,

Haromga azob bor, shubhaga itob,

There is punishment for forbidden things, blame for doubt,

Munda yaxshi, unda yomon ko‘rinar.

Here it seems good, there it seems bad.

Maxtumquli, o‘qib bildim Qur’ondan,

Maxtumquli, I learned from the Quran,

Asar yo‘qdur avval ketgan karvondan,

There is no trace of the caravan that left before,

Go‘rda yolg‘iz yotajaging makondan,

In the grave, you will lie alone in your place,

Ey do‘st, ilon bilan chayon ko‘rinar...

Oh friend, snakes and scorpions appear...
