The earth must have been dry
The earth must have been dry
Till the labour ease, and echoed a cry
Until the work was done, and a cry echoed
The cherubs hidden , trying to pry
The angels hidden, trying to peek
On the little godling, the apple of my eye
At the little god, the one I adore
I heard whispers...whispers about this babe
I heard whispers... whispers about this child
Somewhere placed in a fairytale?
Somewhere placed in a story?
Or was it a wuldor from a whale?
Or was it a wonder from a whale?
That he would grow up to be a fine young male
That he would grow up to be a fine young man
By gods he did...a fine man indeed
By gods he did... a fine man indeed
His mind- a diamond, its can be called greed
His mind is a diamond, it could be called greed
His smile so bright, its like a sunny feild
His smile so bright, it's like a sunny field
His eyes so deep, i cannot help but yeild
His eyes so deep, I cannot help but give in
His lips so rich could we kiss?
His lips so rich, could we kiss?
My love for him would never be amiss
My love for him would never be wrong
My right hand could grab his wirsts
My right hand could grab his wrists
My tounge - a flame as it licks., i yearn for a tryst
My tongue - a flame as it licks, I yearn for a meeting
His body is more than a peice of art
His body is more than a piece of art
Cause benath that skin, is a beating heart.
Because beneath that skin, is a beating heart.
You wnat me to descirbe it? Don't let me start
You want me to describe it? Don't let me start
Cause once i do, my heart rate will go off the charts
Because once I do, my heart rate will go off the charts
Yet i cannot resist, the temptation to let it slip....
Yet I cannot resist, the temptation to let it slip...
He is smart and brilliant
He is smart and brilliant
He's kind
He's kind
He's gentle but strong at heart
He's gentle but strong at heart
He's empathetic and genuine
He's empathetic and genuine
He loves deeper than the pacific
He loves deeper than the Pacific
He is selfless with a heart of gold
He is selfless with a heart of gold
He cares more than what can be told
He cares more than what can be told
He is so easy to love
He is so easy to love
One look in his iris and you won't realize how quickly you fell
One look in his eyes and you won't realize how quickly you fell
You ask me? I love him entirely. But i fell for his smile first
You ask me? I love him entirely. But I fell for his smile first
One glimpse and my sky lit up like the end of an eclipse
One glimpse and my sky lit up like the end of a darkening
My love,
My love,
Another year passed, lawfully adult,
Another year passed, legally an adult,
Picturing yiu as a grown man? Makes me befudldled
Imagining you as a grown man? Makes me confused
You've grown so much infornt of these windows
You've grown so much in front of these windows
You will always be the babe to me who runs in the medows
You will always be the child to me who runs in the fields
So you blow out the candles
So you blow out the candles
Red, violet, blue , green and yellow
Red, violet, blue, green, and yellow
Make a wish ! the clock strikes 12, dont be mellow
Make a wish! The clock strikes 12, don't be sad
Im not magic, im here ti stay
I'm not magic, I'm here to stay
I'll always be here with you.
I'll always be here with you.
Everyday every night.
Every day, every night.
Whenver yiu need a shoulder to cry
Whenever you need a shoulder to cry
Or to share a laughter that never dies.
Or to share a laughter that never dies.

Explanation

This poem is a heartfelt ode to a beloved person, celebrating their growth and the deep affection the speaker holds for them. The poem begins with an imaginative scene where the earth is dry until a cry echoes, suggesting the birth or emergence of someone special. The 'cherubs' and 'godling' evoke a sense of divine or fairy-tale-like wonder surrounding this person.

The speaker reflects on the whispers about this 'babe,' pondering whether they belong to a fairy tale or a mythical creature. This sets up the expectation that the person will grow into someone remarkable, which is confirmed as the poem progresses. The imagery of 'a diamond' and 'a sunny field' conveys the person's brilliance and warmth, while the speaker's yielding to their deep eyes suggests an overwhelming attraction.

The emotional arc of the poem moves from admiration to a deep, personal love. The speaker describes their beloved's qualities with a mix of awe and tenderness, highlighting their intelligence, kindness, and depth of feeling. The tone is affectionate and reverent, as the speaker seems both proud and enamored.

Literary devices such as metaphor and imagery are prominent, with the beloved's mind compared to a diamond and their smile to a sunny field. These devices enhance the sense of wonder and admiration. The use of repetition in phrases like 'He's kind' and 'He's gentle' emphasizes the beloved's virtues.

In conclusion, the poem is a celebration of love and admiration, capturing the essence of seeing someone grow and cherishing their presence. It reflects a timeless theme of love's enduring nature and the joy of witnessing a loved one's journey through life, fitting well within contemporary expressions of personal affection and devotion.
