Translation

أيا ياسمين التي من حلب

Oh Jasmine from Aleppo

وأهلك تركٌ وأهلي عرب

Your family is Turkish and mine is Arab

وما بينا رغم ما بيننا

And between us, despite our differences

سيوفٌ تُسلُّ ونارٌ تُشب

Swords are drawn and fires are kindled

لِعينيك سامحت هذا الزمانَ

For your eyes, I forgave this era

وكُنتُ عليهِ طويلَ العَتَب

And I was long in blaming it

جمالٌِ يُبَطِّئُ مرَّ الرياح

A beauty that slows the harsh winds

ويرجعُ بالنَّهرِ قبل المَصَب

And turns the river back before it reaches the sea
