Under the forest behind the village
okolo kolejí
around the tracks
krkavci obírají přejetou mršinu
ravens pick at a run-over carcass
psi se tam páří
dogs are mating there
slunce si ukládaj pod hlínu
the sun is buried under the soil

Under the forest behind the village
spí slunce v kolejích
the sun sleeps in the tracks
večer v nich oheň pálí smích
in the evening, fire burns with laughter around them

páří se psi
dogs are mating
horkostí svázanou do klínů
bound by heat into their laps
krkavci trhají přejetou mršinu
ravens tear at the run-over carcass
oživlá sklíčka brejlí
revived glass pieces of glasses
svlékají kosti ze světla pod hlínu
strip bones from light under the soil
na lýčí paroží tma vznáší baňky jmelí
on the bark of antlers, darkness hangs mistletoe balls
někde tam pláče dítě
somewhere a child cries

vítr ti fouká do očí
the wind blows into your eyes
hrst prázdného času
a handful of empty time
okolo kolejí pasáci s bičem
around the tracks, herders with whips
shánějí krávy
gather cows
na hlavách věnce z houbiček
with wreaths of mushrooms on their heads
přes koleje tma se chvěje
over the tracks, darkness trembles
do zubatých tlam tydlitaků
into the jagged mouths of creatures
kůl a kůl mezi dráty a ty

Na louce leží mrtvá srna
On the meadow lies a dead doe
