Why do you wander without purpose?

Why do you roam thus aimlessly?

Heed the counsel, O ignorant girl!
The spinning wheel was given to you for nothing.

You didn't pay anything for it.
The spinning wheel you have got free.
You don't understand the effort it took to get it
You have paid nothing to obtain it.
Now that your work is so easy
You do not realize with what effort you got it When your task has become so easy Lass, look to your spinning, O girl!

لڑکی، اپنے کاتنے پر دھیان دو،
اپنا مڑا ہوا تکلا سیدھا کرو۔
جلدی سے چرخے کی ڈور کو ٹھیک کرو۔
کسی نہ کسی طرح اسے کام پر لگاؤ۔
لاپرواہی نہ کرو، اے لڑکی!
لڑکی، اپنے کاتنے پر دھیان دو،
آج تمہارے گھر میں تازہ کپاس ہے۔
تمہیں جلدی سے پن رولز پر کام کرنا چاہیے۔
کاتا ہوا کپاس لے جاؤ تاکہ اسے پھونکا جا سکے کل تم وہاں نہیں جا سکتی، اے لڑکی!

تمہارے پاس ابھی بھی بہت کچھ کرنا باقی ہے!
تم اتنی بے فکر کیوں ہو گئی ہو؟
آخری لمحے میں تم کیا کرو گی،
جب مہمان (موت کے فرشتے) تمہارے گھر پہنچیں گے، اے لڑکی؟
اپنے کاتنے میں دھیان دو، اے لڑکی!
جب تمہارے تمام دوست جا چکے ہوں گے،
وہ وہاں سے بالکل بھی واپس نہیں آئیں گے (وہ موت کے بعد اس دنیا میں واپس نہیں آئیں گے؛
وہ اپنے چرخے کو کاتنے کے لیے نہیں لگائیں گے۔
تمہارا کاتنے کا گھر ویران ہو جائے گا، اے لڑکی!
اپنے کاتنے میں دھیان دو، اے لڑکی!
اپنی خوبصورتی اور جوانی پر فخر نہ کرو؛
سیاح غیر ملک میں نہیں بستے (یہ دنیا روح کے لیے غیر ملک ہے)۔
اس جھوٹی، عارضی دنیا کا،
کوئی نام یا نشان باقی نہیں رہے گا۔
اپنے کاتنے میں دھیان دو، اے لڑکی!
تمہارا امتحان کا وقت (موت کا وقت) ضرور آئے گا،
جب تمام قریبی اور عزیز تمہیں چھوڑ دیں گے۔
لیکن، اس وقت بُلّہ کا سلطان (مالک) تمہیں پار لگانے میں مدد کرے گا:
