Explanation

This poem by Faiz Ahmad Faiz is a powerful critique of economic inequality and injustice. The poet uses the metaphor of a field to represent society, where the farmer, despite his hard work, does not receive his due share of sustenance. The line "جس کہیت کے دبیقن کو میسر نہیں روزی" highlights the plight of the laborer who is denied the fruits of his labor. Faiz's call to "جلالدو" or burn the wheat symbolizes a radical rejection of a system that exploits the working class.

The imagery of burning the wheat is both destructive and purifying, suggesting that the current system must be dismantled to make way for a more just and equitable society. This reflects Faiz's Marxist beliefs and his advocacy for revolutionary change. The poem's tone is one of defiance and urgency, urging immediate action against systemic oppression.

Emotionally, the poem moves from a depiction of injustice to a call for action, capturing a sense of frustration and rebellion. The tone is assertive, reflecting the poet's unwavering commitment to social justice.

Faiz employs metaphor and imagery effectively to convey his message. The metaphor of the field and wheat serves as a powerful symbol of the broader socio-economic structures. The simplicity of the language contrasts with the depth of the message, making it accessible yet profound.

Overall, this poem is significant as it encapsulates Faiz's revolutionary spirit and his lifelong struggle for the rights of the oppressed. It remains relevant as a critique of economic disparity and a call for systemic change, resonating with audiences seeking justice and equality.
