Poetry Analysis

Fire and Ice

Original Poetry

Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

Translation

Some people believe the world will end in fire, Others believe it will end in ice. From my experiences with desire, I agree with those who prefer fire. But if it had to end twice, I think I understand enough about hate To say that ice is also great for destruction And would be sufficient. And would be enough.
