Unbound by blood Lesedi Nkhobo
In winter, shadows cover tints and hues Behind the sullen gray and gloomy shades; The searing summer rays defeat my muse, And leave me burning under scorching blades. In spring, the winds blow dirt into my room; My windows break and wooden doors open For vultures sharing my kinship of doom: They are winter's soldiers or summer's men. But your immortal care rebuilds my sphere, Where walls are steel, yet soft enough for me; The crows and vultures stay afar from here; My beauties laugh and dance as I am free. Within this, love and blood are torn apart; Within this, words express eternal art.
