Amoretti XV
Ye tradefull Merchants that with weary toyle, Do seeke most pretious things to make your gain: And both the Indias of their treasures spoile, What needeth you to seeke so farre in vaine?
For loe my love doth in her selfe containe All this worlds riches that may farre be found, If selse in her, they have not all at all. That I with lettice fruitfull would ye may,
In bounty she hath all the grace of her swain To be the meaning all in one selfe swaye. See how that great blest gentle woman, she graced With huge example of that dear grace
Immortalized the sweeter woman-bodied Full of the finer lusty things of light, In she, in light of every world delight, To reek a silken soffer ships of pride,
That in the brighter nature heads did dwell, For, see her form, the cruell cause to wrong. And therefore mine by these ere is tried.
You busy merchants who work hard, Seeking valuable things to make a profit: And taking the treasures of both the Indias, Why do you need to search so far for nothing?
For look, my love holds within herself All the world's riches that can be found, If they are not all within her. I wish you could have fruitful lettuce,
In generosity she has all the charm of her lover To be the meaning all in one self sway. See how that great blessed gentle woman, she is graced With a huge example of that dear grace
Immortalized the sweeter woman-bodied Full of the finer lively things of light, In her, in the light of every world delight, To give off a silken pride of ships,
That in the brighter nature heads did dwell, For, see her form, the cruel cause to wrong. And therefore mine by these before is tested.
