Original Poem
Translation (English)
Ghazal
I didn't believe in love, I doubted it all my life
One smile from you — and I started believing
Golden hair dancing, eyes of a stunning beauty
A heart that was awake, suddenly became unaware
Your pink lips, soft like a flower bud, unmatched
Moonlight lost, even the moon disappeared
People make fun of me
In the end, even this philosopher's determination was proven wrong

Detailed Explanation
This ghazal explores the transformative power of love and beauty. The poet begins by describing himself as a lifelong skeptic of love, but a single smile from the beloved changes his perspective entirely, making him a believer. The imagery of 'golden locks dancing' and 'the gaze of a captivating beauty' suggests an enchanting presence that overwhelms the poet's senses, leading to a sudden lapse in his usual awareness. The poet continues with the description of the beloved's lips, comparing them to delicate buds, and noting how even the moonlight pales in comparison to their beauty. The final couplet reflects on the ridicule the poet faces from others, as his philosophical resolve crumbles in the face of love's power. The ghazal captures the themes of love's overwhelming influence and the futility of resisting its charm.
